ABOUT THE CONFERENCE 2020

    In 2020, International Conference on Industrial Engineering was held on 18-22 of May. The spread of the coronavirus COVID-19 made adjustments to our lives that year, including the organization of the ICIE conference. ICIE was held as a virtual conference. Both oral sections and poster sections were organized on-line. Oral sections were implemented as a video conference. Poster sections were in a chat mode.

    The conference organizers were South Ural State University (national research university), Platov South-Russian State Polytechnic University, Moscow Polytechnic University and Volgograd State Technical University.

    ICIE 2020 included a rich technical program consisting of 13 sections:
    Part 1. Mechanical Engineering:
    1.1. Machinery and Mechanism Design;
    1.2. Dynamics of Machines and Working Processes;
    1.3. Friction, Wear, and Lubrication in Machines;
    1.4. Design and Manufacturing Engineering of Industrial Facilities;
    1.5. Transport and Technological Machines;
    1.6. Mechanical Treatment of Materials;
    1.7. Industrial Hydraulic Systems;
    1.8. Green Manufacturing.
    Part 2. Materials Engineering and Technologies for Production and Processing:
    2.1. Polymers, Composites and Ceramics;
    2.2. Steels and Alloys, Metallurgical and Metalworking Technologies;
    2.3. Chemical and Hydrometallurgical Technologies;
    2.4. Surface Engineering and Coatings;
    2.5. Processing and Controlling Technologies.

    More than 500 reports were selected by the program committee for participating in the conference (see program). In 2020, scientists and practicians from 18 countries took part in the conference, including representatives of 83 Russian cities from the western and central parts to the Far East regions. International participants represented 43 cities and 17 countries. These are countries such as Bulgaria, China, Egypt, France, Germany, India, Iraq, Israel, Italy, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Poland, Portugal, Tajikistan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Vietnam,

    English-speaking conference papers were accepted for publication in "Lecture Notes in Mechanical Engineering" of Springer International Publishing AG (www.springer.com/series/11236) and "Solid State Phenomena" journal of Trans Tech Publications Ltd. (www.scientific.net). Reports of "Mechanical Engineering" were published in the "Lecture Notes in Mechanical Engineering" journal (volume I; volume II). Reports of "Materials engineering and technologies for production and processing" were published in the "Solid State Phenomena" journal (vol. 316, 2021).

    Russian-speaking conference papers were accepted for publication in the conference proceedings as electronic issue indexed by RSCI (Russian Science Citation Index).
